I am running an MLG converter from goerend and it is currently stalled at 2000 rpms. It is a bit tight for the track but I absolutely love the street manners. Curious if it would be worth jumping up a couple hundred rpms. I don't want to lose my street manners but just don't have a ton of experience with this type stuff. What do you guys think?

Suncoast 1058 should be loose enough to spool your setup easily. We did a trans for a guy running a Danville 72 single and with the 1058 he can spool it nicely and the street manners are great. That would get my vote. It's not just about stall speed. I've found the Goerend converters to be really tight despite having a high stall.

I think they offer a one time stall speed change. Give them a call. I had the ML in mine with the 66/83 compound setup. Went with the DA series (looser) with the current setup. Have not drove it yet. I have rode in trucks with the same converter with diff turbo setup and it pulled hard and smooth.

I like my 1058, 2300 stall I think. My motors not built, so low rpm has less fuel coming in makes it a bit laggier. But it definatly handles better with my 72 compared to a stock turbo, and street characteristics are great. I wouldnt go higher than 2400, especially if you pull any fuel back at low rpms and continue driving it on the street just my opinion. I think I saw you mention that in you 1/4 time thread.

I have the DA series, couples great for daily driving and lots of RPM's off the line. I've built up to 3200 before but the launch with that much RPM was violent.

I would go with a SC 1055 if you're looking for street manners or ML-K for a higher stall. It will have decent street manners. If you want more stall, SC 1031. ( ask Evan ).
The SC 1058 won't be right for your application.

Your truck will dance too much off the line at 3200 Landon. Use only enough RPM to get your best launch.

Figured that out the hard way, my truck likes about 2700 with the drag radials. Its funny I get lots of very good advise on this forum, get to the drag strip and do the exact opposite lol. I'll learn one day.

So mike you don't think adding a couple hundred rpms to the stall speed of my current converter would help get me on top of the chargers quicker at the track? I'm really not looking to make any drastic changes. Just want to be able to spool a bit easier on the line and light a bit quicker out of the hole.

Talk to mark about tuning. I almost bet he can get it to come up just fine with your current stall. I have a 1054 and with the 68/83, I could make 30#'s fairly easy without pushing.

Why did you buy an ML-G? That is a very tight converter and all wrong for your purpose. Give me a call.

The converter you have wasn't built to do what your doing with it. Mike and I just had this conversation give him a call.

I'm with Kyle. I bet you could really make gains in the tuning alone

Correct Timing in spool RPM is huge. I went form a few degrees positive timing, to -3* and that helped a lot. Play with the timing.
