Stage 4 verses Stage 5 Whats the difference

What is the difference between the two kits other than holding more power. Will a stage 5 kit last longer than a stage 4 kit if both ran the same power level like 600 horse? Is it better to spend the extra money and get the stage 5 or is it to much tranny if your not going to use it to it's full benifit? I always wondered about that. Thanks for any input

IIRC the 4 and 5 are the same parts, only the 5 is a complete trans instead of a kit..

That's what I understand, but some people say there are some "super duper secret mods" done on the 5 that cause it to hold more power...

How long does a built tranny last if you don't run it max power? Will it last like a stock tranny on factory tune?

if your talking kits , I assume your talking PPE . as far as which to choose , I would go the bigger kit . it holds more power and is only a little more

mike L built my trans in 07 and I have put 105K + miles on it currently, and its still running like a champ

The stage 4 from PPE is basically just a drop in set of clutches with thinner steels and such that will let you slip extra clutches into the packs. It comes with the transgo, knockdown valve, increase washer, and c2 piston kit, along with the full set of clutches.

The stage 5 kit comes with all of the above plus some cut pistons and revised plates that will give room for more clutches than the stage four.
obviously each builder has his tricks that will increase longivity and holding power.

I would do a video on how to build an Alli with a LOT of tricks contained in it. The problem is I would sell 2 maybe 3 DVD's and the rest of the country would have the info. You guys would share them and pass them around, probably for money.:rofl:
I'll leave the '01/'10 Alli to everyone else. I am concentrating on the '11. There are things to be learned from it and can be incorporated in the earlier Alli's.
