As it is now, there is not enough room to clamp anything to the pipe. The hanger is right at the end of the pipe.
Mine is the same as yours only I cut mine off shorter and got rid of the last hanger.I figured if I was ever in the same boat as you are I would just fab something up for the event that could be easily swapped on and off.I don't like stacks and I didn't like the looks of the exhaust sticking out so it was the only option.

cut the hole in the bed as a square so if you ever want to put it back in you can tig it and get the bed coated with a rhino liner or something similiar. I have a dimond plate piece of steel that is bent to cover up all the piping in the bed....Looks really nice and clean

We ran an "upward" tip on Casper that exited in front of the rear tire. While I only did 45 deg, I could have went straight up:

That "tip" is only 18" long and unbolts in 1 minute. I took the existing 4" exhaust and turned it out where the frame goes up.

I think if you are on the fence about a stack you should just fab up a piece thats easy to put on or pull off for events. That said I dont consider a Stack to be permanent if done correctly. Here are a couple pics I snapped when I put my stack on.. I originally loved the way the stack sounded and did not mind the droon in the cab but like others have said it gets old pretty quick if its your DD.. If my CC stays my DD this year the stack is coming off;)

I kept the 4" round cut out that I can easily mig back in and Re-coat with bed liner when and if I remove it....

If your hesitant don't do it. Personally I don't like stacks I did it for pulling and I couldn't live with a daily driver with a stack.

Ditto!

I daily drive mine on a regular cab. It's a 5 inch w/ a semi resinator to a 7 inch and it has a stupid drone in 6th gear at cruising speed 55-65. 70 is not too bad, and 50 is okay. I had to pull a 5th wheel trailer w/ 7-8000 pounds on it and I had 3 people in the cab; they were all ready to throw the stack in the road ditch and take the turn up and turn it down. (may try this)

FWIW when I am in 5th gear, the drone is much more manageable than when it's in 6th. The lug in between shifts is slightly annoying but if you get up to speed it's not so bad. It killed my fuel economy trying to drive around the drone.

I am going to try an actual 5 inch muffler next, but I only did it for truck pulling, and it was cheap and easy exhaust upgrade on a regular cab truck.

If time didn't seem to go so fast, I would have changed back to the stock exhaust. I also have a roll pan, so my stock bazooka tail pipe would look stupid out the back of the truck.

Not sure where my options lie except to get a different daily driver.

Stack with a muffler. I pulled my stack off within 3 months of having it on. way too loud for me.
If I do the stack, I will definitely be running a muffler. I will either use the one I have now or a Hushpower that was offered to me in exchange for welding in a straight 5" pipe.
I think stacks are cool if you don't use your bed.JMO
Yeah, I don't use my bed often, but when I do, the stack would really be in the way. I was thinking this afternoon that, if I do it, I might put it in the corner like the picture custom posted.

Custom, do you have a pic straight on from behind?

This is what I was about to suggest. There was a really good pic of this (Kat changing the tires) in the thread about Wendy's wheels I believe, or was it shoes
