Rain and too humid not to run the A/C.
X2

My A/C is always on. The only time it turns off is when the truck forces it off (below 43 degrees outside, IIRC). I can't really tell a difference in mileage on the Duramax with it on/off, and I like the drier air coming out of the vents.

used about 27 gallons of water for the ENTIRE round trip.

Like I said, bed was too full to check the level when I dropped the trailer in Buffalo.

So if we just cut it 50/50 you possibly burned 13.5 gallons of water/meth on the return trip, cut at 20% methanol is about 3 gallons of methanol.

So really you burned almost 23 gallons of "fuel." Just adding the methanol+ diesel there so that knocks it down to 22 mpg or am I missing something here?

Sounds reasonable except I was spraying with a 175 ml nozzle and higher psi while towing.

I'll run straight water next if the temps stay up.

unhooked from that, topped off the factory tank and the 7 gallon meth tank and hit the 402.

aux tank was Empty. So truck was about as light as its going to get. Aux tank gauge is 3rd from the left

The route:
on 4 in between the 401 and 402 is an Airstream Dealer. Topped off the tank and took pics in their parking lot. North on 4, west on 402 to the US/Canada Border. 5 minutes idleing in line at customs and I'm out of the gate headed east on 69 to Flint. Stopped at Starbucks on Miller Rd in Flint to grab a coffee and meet up with a member on Duramax Forum. Out of there, back on 69 to 127 to 94 to Parma MI truck stop for diesel

2dec.jpg

Either I used all 7 gallons of water or it finally froze, because it stopped spraying about 2 miles before the truck stop. Air temp had dropped to 28 by then. I was 5 miles from home, the same site of my famous driveshaft incident, and its Friday and they sell beer. So I decided it was a good enough time to stop and fill up.

6.8 gallons of diesel

Run tire psi at 75 and set cruise at 60 mph with Brayden's tune for the job go up without meth and back with then show the log. I get best mpg like that without meth mix can't see that extra cost. LBZ puts out great mpg at 60 mph on mine with tires max'd for best rolling average. Almost 40k mi. on it now seems to be loose now on trips when you do put it down for comparing hill pulls or playing with those Prius rockets that want to show their battery power boost I guess. Dyno'd 475hp/840 tq. EFI tune so when I roll into it passing it's hardly any smoke runs clean on cruise speed settings up to 90 mph. I noticed alot better running truck after Raptor liftpump was put on then we tuned/dyno'd it.. Set the regulator at 20 psi from feeder line with gauge inline just before stock filter. Put the pencil to cruise/60 mpg best was 26 average 23 mpg just truck not towing elevations from 4k to 11k mtn. Interstate driven. Happy with this result on that size of truck. I'm sure others have beat this towing or whatever but ours was just the first test series.

33.8 MPG, that is CRAZY!
But how many times did you get flipped off for only doing 60?? :spit:

Seriously, though, I can believe that mileage; especially for a 2WD and stock size tires. It is very impressive nonetheless.

You are inspiring me to try for maximum mileage on my next trip home. Unlike you, though, I don't think I have the patience to go only 60 MPH. I'll give it a shot and see, though.

I passed one semi the whole trip.

Although it caused severe brain damage going 60mph for 230 miles, I'm afraid i have to do it again to make sure it was/wasnt a fluke

Dealer I delivered it to offers to deliver it and set up to the site. Guess most people dont have a vehicle big enough to tow these beasts.

Unhooked from the trailer and filled up. Here is the route:

Filled up at the Flying J, Hubbard Ohio

Even disconnected the fill line between the Aux tank and Factory tank to shut up the "you're cheating and pumping fuel" people. Sorry for the Crude-ity of the disconnect and cap off, electrical tape and zip ties was all I had on hand.
