Bring rpms up to about 1000 and sit there until egt's get up to 800-1000 and then start adding more rpms. I have a really tight converter, a 1057. Even with the tight converter I can still cut some 1.8X 60s, still not the low 1.7s I could cut with my stock charger.

Can run really low or even negative timing at the less than 1000rpm range to help push the heat from the combustion out the exhaust more which can aide in lighting the turbo. Which turbine wheel & AR exh housing do you have?

A 2nd or 3rd gear start can help with the low stall converter too.

It takes some practice. I run a 1056 and with a third gear start I can get my truck to light just fine with an S475 as my little turbo. Try a 2nd or 3rd gear start and don't be in a hurry to leave the line, you need to build quite a bit of heat before you leave. Start watching your pyro and you'll find out how much heat you need to light it.

Like other said, do a 2nd or 3rd gear trans tune and drop the timing way down in the spool up areas. Retarded timing will definately help to light the turbo quicker by putting more of the combustion heat out the exhaust.

I'm not the best with efi live yet but can you make it so that only when in 4lo on that one tune it will start in 2nd or third?

I'd like to try a second gear start tune, how much harder on the converter will this be? I plan to swap out converters for a looser one but if this will fix my launch issue at the track I'd love to try it.

I have launched in 2nd about 20 times. Cut 1.60 - 1.70's. Converter acts goofy for a little while. Till i get some miles back on it
