We just finish doing injectors. Tried starting the truck the first time we saw smoke coming from the bolts on top of the intake horn. It stopped after a little. Then when we got the truck started the tach and speedo won't work at all. Did a fuse blow or something?

Louisburg, KS for now
Did you check the fuses?
All the wire hooked back up?
Were you rough with the harness that's on top of the engine?
Everything grounded? There's the 2 grounds on the passenger side front that the harness goes down to.
Where you having issues with the cluster before?

What fuses should I check? And yeah everything got hooked back up. And didn't mess with any harnesses rough and the gauges worked before

Had a similar issue 2 days ago. Replaced both batteries, when I drove away from Autozone the lights, DIC and PRNDL all worked but the gauges were all off. Restarting did not help. I pulled the negative off both batteries, gave it thirty seconds, and then reconnected. Bingo, gauges worked again. The computer in the dash must have gotten in a bad state, probably due to a brown-out condition.

Try pulling negatives on the battery. When you reconnect try to make sure you don't bounce the connection so the ground only connects once.

Good luck.
