this happened today.. ****er was speeding heading home and dove into the ditch and nailed me as he was coming back out of the ditch.. course cop sites me :doh: (automatic court date ) if he was actually doing the 45-50mph he told the cop i would have seen him... cop said its 210yd from the corner to where he hit me and it take me 10+ second to complete the left turn there.. where is a dash cam when you need one :soap:

he hit me between the two telephong poles!

i got the pic of my left front tires black mark... didnt get any him in the ditch... he laugh and said "yeah your right!" when i told him he was luck i wasn't a tractor!

glad i haven't put the truck into "storage insurance" yet. still fully covered or that wasnt my 07!

I would try to find someone near there to take pictures of his tire marks in the ditch assuming I'm reading this right, and he was in the ditch on his own account and not trying to miss you

yes i was making a left turn. i turned because there was noone present when i entered the intersection coming from the right
i live two fields away from the intersection

Honestly surprised you don't have a dash cam in your truck.

Sucks to hear though, hope you can fix it quick and not get dragged into court shens.

with as much driving as you do, and since it is a business, it would definitely be wise to invest in a dash cam. They arent terribly expensive.

I throw my gopro up on long trips when I tow. Just put it on its lowest res and delete the vid when it gets above 80%. Doesn't last that long but works great.

Good luck Adam, I got screwed this summer by a guy in court. Traveling down a country highway a truck going the opposite direction slammed my mirror with his. Took new minute to figure out what happened, I kept driving in to the next small town to where I know where a police station is. Nowhere to stop on the highway no shoulder anywhere.

It was 40+ mph cross wind so I told the cop I could have been hugging the center line but I was still in my lane, guy is at the next small the other direction and he told that cop I had just passed 4-5 cars and made no attempt to get back in my lane.

The others guy cop wouldn't let me go outside the police station when they got there, cuz the other wanted to kick my ass... So naturally I got pissed off and wanted to let the guy try his best, anyway I ended up hand cuffed in the police station.

When it went to court naturally cops were there and the other guy was a no show I still got stuck with fleeing the scene, failure to stay in my lane and driving under the influence. Which I was NOT they found my pain meds in my truck (non narcotic) which is where I keep them.

Moral of the story have your shit together and all the pics and info you can you can NOT have to much evidence on your side

i just rescently found out there are more than just the go pro out there that can be used as "dash cams"

as for money.. its been really tight! and i'm behind and several major bill i parked the truck friday and just got through orientation today as a company driver with a previous employer.

from watching videos of dash cams.. all it would have shown is how far the truck was in completing the turn when the van hit me.. if the van had not swerved he would have rearend the truck..
unless i have one pointed out the PS/DS window it wont see past the A pillers on a vehicle in a L/R direction

I would think a gopro mounted in the back would catch a lot. I was saved from a drunk hitting me b/c the gas station cam caught the guy hauling ass out of the parking lot after buying more beer and seeing the head lights spin from my ford. Even if it is a 70% chance still worth it.

if it does go bad for me this is my first and only moving voilation in 10+ years.. learned long time ago to as much as humanly possible to keep a level head.... hence why im going to get video going both ways..

thanks.. that truck been hit 4 times not just wont die........ which im gratefull

hood(PS hinge is bent.. IDK if it got into the cab or not), fenders, grille (upper), bumper are all common parts, finding a HD core support and lower grille (250.00 dealer price) is the PITA.
couple more pictures.. bumper is creased nicely around the frame I didnt notice any steering issues when driving it home, about 4 miles.

That sucks I'd be ripped! I think the cop is seeing where the impact is on the vehicle and passing judgment plus for some reason he's believing the other guys story. Did you piss off the cop?
