Speakers?

6.5" will fit but I think stock is 5.5 or 6" I went with 6.5" Alpines R-Type and I am loving them
Factory is 6.5". I ran the shallow/slim Infinity Reference. The JL Audio 6.5" components are awesome. I had them in my '02 and '05.

if you change speakers, it would be a great time to install some dynomat (I used Fat Mat), to all inner surfaces of your doors, I went 3 layers thick on the inside of the outter panel. It makes a world of difference on the sound and also just about eliminates road noise.

I need new speakers bad in my 02... are they the same size?? what kind of money are we talking about for some of these speakers you all speak of??? I've NEVER had a "system" in any of my trucks. Well, a couple of Walmart-special 8" pioneers behind the seat in a box I built in my s-10 but hardly mentionable. 
Anyways, I'd kinda like to put an in dash nav radio in, something under the rear bench seat for some bass, some nice factory replacement speakers for the highs and mids and of course, an amp or two to handle things. I DO NOT WANT nor need the TOP OF THE LINE stuff but don't want walmart stuff either. What brands or models are middle ground in the stereo world?

No, but he will know deals that may not be in the magazine. Also ask him about "open box" deals. These are returned items that may be the wrong size or the wrong thing. They are a little cheaper than a new item. Let him know what budget you are working with and he will find the best deal for you.

me please. I got a popped door speaker that needs replacing. Might as well do them all at some point.
Hertz dsk-165's sound phenomenal on a stand alone aftermarket head unit's power. You do not need an amp as they are super efficient 93db/spl, and were designed to run on head unit power only. I am putting them in my RV. Additionally they are a 2 piece component set. Good luck.
Just installed JL componat C2-650's in the front doors yesterday, waiting on some C5-650's to come in later this week to install in the rear doors next weekend. Also having a custom box built this week with 10" Jl's in it and put in a Kenwood DDX8032BT receiver this past week, almost feel like i'm in high school again
