I know exactly what you mean and how you feel Tom. I just felt there was no way there was a light at the end of the tunnel for me personally and with all the changes after I told the members to 'relax, it'll all be ok' they'd pop something up on me out of left field... The thing the members don't get is, you see the stuff before we do or at the same time. There's been ONE time i got a pre-warning and thats when I resigned. I was tired of feeling like a liar telling everyone no more changes and signing on myself to google ads...
I dont want to beat the site or the staff up, seriously, it's a shitty job.
It's hard to differentiate between if the members are attacking the staff or the ways of the site. I had a real hard time not keeping it personal, when I saw a DP attack I'd take it to heart and it got unhealthy.
I know deep down they don't hate me (the majority i at least hope. LOL) they were just mad at the site and we were the go between them and the administrator... They were using us as a sounding board hoping for action. I promise you, the staff, ALL OF THEM tried and TRY SOOOO hard and pass on every idea to the admin who in turn passes it on to the bosses.
I hope this helps some of you see how it works, not flame me or Tom over why it isn't working. We've told them, and told them, and told them they need to stop the changes and they ignored our posts, or pretend not to see it and do as they wish anyways... We did try though guys, I promise all of you that.
To the Mcswains, thanks for being so understanding, when I PMed you asking you if you knew who I was and asking if it was ok to post on the board you gave me a warm welcome.

Wow, guess it's that time of year, not much going on and not many events to go to or report, the fireworks threads get a lot of action. I like Johnny's idea of TDP unbanning everyone who is banned, (would love to see how long that list is) and start a fresh.
I personally liked the back and forth between the venders because some good stuff came from it. The, "you said I said" stuff does get old. I've been fortunate enough to meet most of the players, at least the ones from the western states. Characters, strong opinions and ego all. That's OK, it doesn't bother me, you just have to sort through the shaff to find the kernal of info you are looking for.
I'm not sure about all the pop up ads people are referring to on TDP, I don't get any of that when I log in, maybe I just don't see them. In some forums they are between posts which is irritating as hell.
I'll keep going to the DP and checking out what is happening, I agree the tech threads are not as good as they use to be, but I usually don't go to a thread to get my answers anymore, these forums have allowed me to make the contacts where I can find my answers.
I really think continuing to beat the dead horse on how it use to be, and how some of you old mods were betrayed is getting old, get over it. If the current leadership over there reinstates the banned members at least try and make a go of it if it's what you want. But don't go back over there and just start picking old scabs, that will accomplish nothing.
As Pat has stated, most of the members over there are looking for plug in mods for a stock engine, most of the guys over here are performance guys, and that's good. Not as many, "how do I make my truck smoke" threads over here. There is a place for that and the DP is the place.:2cents:

Other than Cole and Nick, I honestly don't hold any real anomosity towards any of the staff or members at TDP. Yes, Chad pissed me off and I feel I was treated poorly by him, but I've met him a few times and I like him in person. I just didn't care for his decisions he made as admin.
No matter what happens at TDP, this place won't be dissolving, and it will remain my home base. There needs to be at least ONE board I can't get banned from!

What is different about this place is, I know for sure that if Cole, Chad, or Nick wanted to become members and participate here they would be allowed to without problems from the mods... which is why this place grows, and continues to provide the best tech info of any diesel forum.
