Needing some hi temp 1/4" OD .170 ID Hi temp Nylon/similar tubing. Anyone have any good sources? Not looking for it in 100 foot spools or anything.

:embarassed: using low pressure low temp Ice Maker fridge tubing for my boost line from tap-MAP sensor and the engine heat caused it to melt through LOL.

Parkerhose.com IIRC

They have a sleeve (orange insulated with a fiberglass liner good to 475* continous) that will fit over that hose if you wanna continue to use the same. Good idea BTW- that hose is easy to get ur hands on.

You could also wrap the plastic in a rubber hose simply shielding it from the heat that should get you good.

or G&J aircraft supply in Ontario/Upland, CA area. They will custom make all kinds of braided stainless lines and such.

Was kind of pieced together - just went down to Home Depot with the MAP sensor I had and starting fitting hoses :D

Then went to fittings house and tried to get a barbed fitting, employee came back out with a compression and have been using it since. The tube melts right at the compression fitting, so Im not sure if engine heat is heating the fitting and melting it, or the actual air flowing through our IC system is too hot and melting it from the inside or what.

My first thought was to sleeve it with a product like you mentioned, but I think its actually melting from the inside out.

A shot of it now:

It only happens on long trips - its melted twice on me once on a 4 hour sustained trip from LA home and another on the 2 hour trip to Famoso - melted between 1st and 2nd 1/4 mile passes.

Never seen a SuperDiesel Manifold on the compresor side. I would re rout that to the post CAC and you would get actual boost # the engine sees! Plus its cooler than out the compressor.

That being said, Could you use steel braid to stop the melting! From the looks of it . The brass is heating up and melting the edge , not the hose melting.

No place to put it anywhere else on LBZ/LMM :(

People have had boost readings pre and post and have seen at MOST 1 psi drop... its been debated heavily.

And Id love to use braided line but my map sensor is just a plastic nipple that you just have to push a hose over basically. Check out the first pic.

How about copper tubing from your local hardware store, I used it for a while on my drive pressure setup until I got a braided line.

I still have some of the copper tubing if you cant find it. Your welcome to it.

Hmm wtf had a reply here earlier and it got deleted or somethign I think...

Nothing holds it onto the MAP sensor its just pressure fit onto the plastic nipple on there as you can see in pic 1.... the zip tie is to ease my mind  Thats why Im looking for somethign pretty close to .170 ID. Smallest that link has is .250, but Im going to keep diggin around. Thanks!
