I am trying to find a cheap/good sound system.

I been searching on amazon for a couple days trying to find a good cheap brand and so far kenwood has been the cheapest.

I was thinking of about $45 per sub, $43 for pair of door speakers, and less than $100 for a radio. i am also in need of a sub box. should i get the sub box for behind the seat or for under the seat any sound diff or anything i should know? i like the fact i can flip down the rear seat and put stuff back there when i need to.

found these things on amazon what do yall think.

I think the box depends on the truck I know my LBZ box went behind the seat my LML is under so it depends. I don't like kenwood products though. Most people don't like to go "Cheap" on stereo equipment though. Look at the RMS and peak power on the speakers compared to the amp and radio you gonna run two amps or one? That amp might not work to well hooked to everything.

Missed this post some how...

With the budget you are trying to use its not going to matter really. Kenwood is great I have been selling it for over 10 years. Not big on there speakers but I dont sell speakers or amps at the price point you are looking at. Probably not going to make to big a difference on who makes them when you are spending $43 for door speakers and $45. on a sub.

Typically any door door speakers I sell start at $110.00 and subs around $125.00. Amp the lowest price I can do is $200.00. That would be for the Alpine V-power amps. Those are the only low priced amps I sell.

Everyone has a budget stay with yours at least you are getting a system in there. I guess I do have a couple thoughts. This is what I would tell you if you came in my store.

At that price for door speakers I wouldnt touch them unless your speakers are blown because they will most likely sound worse than the factory speakers. If you are still wanting to change them then forget the rears and put that money into a better set of front speakers. Those are the ones you are going to be listening to. Or at least that is where the sound "is supposed" to come from. In front of you. Not to mention they are 4x6"s in the rear doors and I dont care how much you spend on them they will never sound good. Worst sounding speaker ever made.

At this point hopefully I would have convinced you not to waist your money on $40.00 door speakers and would tell you to put all the money you were going to spend into a decent sub and amp because that is the one thing that can make your system sound better at the price you are at. The Kenwood Excelon shallow 12" works great under the seat. Needs a small box so it wont take up much room and it sounds good. Like I mentioned before you can not beat the Alpine v-power 500 watt mono amp. Great price great power and it is solid. I have sold hundreds with really no problems ever.

Hope this helps. If you still have questions let me know.
