This from the instructions for the BD High Idle kit. Shows the circuit only goes to the ECM.

They only ask you to set the Parking brake when using the feature for safety and not to depress the brake pedal. I am just guessing the signal cancels out the PTO function so its not active if you put it in gear.

Thanks, I understand that, I had read somewhere the parking brake must be set, there can be restrictions in programming that have nothing to do with the actual hardware, (an example is if there is a MIL light the truck will not remotely start or at least keep running even though the remote start circuit has nothing connected to the MIL) It could of course simply be that it is "suggested" that the parking brake be set and that got converted by someone into it "must" be set.

I read somewhere there is another setting programmable with a Tech2 that enables the switch to ECM pins 8 and 60 to run PTO/high idle. It may or may not be in the base used for someone's specific DSP5. Wonder if anyone found this issue after installing the switch on an LBZ and overcame it without overwriting tunes? Not sure if programming just that setting with Tech2 would work with existing DSP5 tunes or be persistent when switching back and forth to other positions. Anyone have experience?

I have the high idle Pto switch wired in on my LBZ. All it needs is a 12v supply and it will work. I also have the DSP5 but my high idle is not included in it. Unless you call the factory high idle included.
