I find this most interesting because I was always under the impression that the sensors were the same.

ahh I see. Me too. Whenever I remove them, the only way I tell them apart is the fact that the plastic plugs are clocked slightly differently on the CPS than the CKP sensor.

Yep it caught me out, with all the engines I've swapped, something was just different with my assembly of the front cover this time. Went and checked the part #'s first and their one number off of each other, thought that might have been for the clocking but there is something different inside. Funny how you can engineer two sensors right next to each other with the same go - no go slots, same center line to mount hole dimension, same sealing diameter, same connectors and the same color with out anyone going "hold on a minute, somethings wrong here"
