Sorry to hear this. I know what you mean about your truck being part of the family. I had my 03 for 7 years and 241k miles. I was sad the day I traded him away. T-REX was good to me and did not ask for much. I hope Wendy is found soooon!!

This really sucks. Had my 90 Z71 stolen from my apartment when I moved to Nashville. Insurance made me whole, but the feeling of it being stolen still hurts! Never turned up.
We should start cutting the hands and feet off thieves!
In a way, I hope you dont get it back, what they have probably done to it will just make you sick.

Sorry.:(

Pat and Kat, sorry to hear the news. Its such a shitty feeling knowing you do the best you can on things just to have someone walk right up and walk off with it.

Just to clear up a few things on key codes, atleast from this gm dealers stand point, in order to get a key code from gm, even as an employee, for a used car the dealer owns, I have to provide my id, it is on file here so I dont physically have to show it, but my employee number is added to the gm screen. For a guy off the street we need insurance, id and registration. If we fail to get those items the dealer is held liable in the event of an emergency. THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE ENTERED INTO THE GM KEY CODE SYSTEM THOUGH. As of a few weeks ago we also are only allowed to retrieve 5 codes per day. There are also only 3 people in the dealership that are "certified" to actually get the codes. Used to be four but one got the boot:woott: The dealer is required to keep a copy of the code on file for a number of months or years (i forget which) for security purposes.

Good luck finding the truck folks, I will send a prayer your way. I know how you feel.

Drop the glovebox, unplug the antenna, and the wiring to the module. Even with a backup battery, without the antenna there is no communication.

only the new GMT-900's with Gen 8.0 onstar have the backup battery.

Who said onstar is in the same location (behind the glovebox) on the -900's as it is on the -800's?? :) ;)

On the new body style trucks the onstar module is deeper in the dash towards the center. Its significantly harder to get to, not just a 5 second drop the glovebox like on the -800's.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Wendy. I have never met you guys or even seen Wendy in person but I feel a loss as well. It's amazing with todays tech how we all know so much about people we have never met. I've read about Wendy for years and I know she is a big part of your family and the "Diesel Family" as well. Best wishes.

So sorry Kat and Pat and kids . I know how much you all love Wendy .

Makes me really mad . F'in thieves !

You know I run your area all night long in my tow truck . Kept my eye out last night for her .

Just got off work this morning and had a chance to read the thread .

Mexico is my guess , but maybe you will get lucky and whoever took her screws up and gets caught . If I see your truck .... Im taking her over to the side of the road myself with my tow truck . I will try not to hurt her doing so . Im seriously going to beat some ass before I dispatch CHP to the scene .

I put the word out to my drivers . With plate # and description .

Dont give up .... she might be found

Man this sucks, but more than likely Kat your right, a high profile truck like that will be stripped quickly. Drive line for sure. I know the feeling of helplisness in a situation like that. All we can do is hope for the best, and hope the do find it so yall will have some closure on this.

If they took her to mexico and went through the border they will have a picture of the license plate. Insurance can get the photos for the border. my guess is they will find the truck gutted some where. They knew what they were doing. This is not there first time.

dont they have a file of the trucks that on there boat?

I'm sure they do but do you think that it'll be traveling with legit documents and numbers? It'll be re-vin documented and shipped or sold her. Or parted out

There is a big Gray Market over seas whole or in part um sure. Even here for that matter ,its easy to do unfortunately.
