SoCal 9100 Guys

Who all has the 9100 series of the SoCal cams and what are your thoughts? Street drive or is it just a competition vehicle?

Looking to upgrade my cam next year and looking to start acquiring parts this summer.

Run mine on the street. So many variables but at 2600rpm it comes alive hard

It depends upon each application but with that said I would not run one on the street. I was disappointed in that aspect if it. There is a better street cam available.

I completely agree with Shane. I hated mine on the street and if you have to tow anything it's of course even worse. That being said, it makes lots of power up top.

I agree with these guys. I have a truck at the shop with a 9100, and I'm about to swap it for a 6480AF to wake it up some on the bottom end.

That's the exact swap I'm doing on my reg cab.

I am running a 3000 stall with an S475 no plans of ever towing anything it'll see 50/50 street/drag racing. My Randys stage 1 isn't enough so I was looking into the 6480 and 9100 leaning towards the 9100.

Same set up as me. Mine does fine. But isnt a dd.

I'll have to ask the customer, but I'm sure he would like to get some money back out of it.

I didn't have the 9100 exactly, but I had a big cam similar to it. I ended up redoing the motor with a smaller cam, and there was a noticeable difference on the street. It LOVED 3000+ rpm and was most efficient at higher rpm's which made street driving have high egt's and smoky if I didn't manually shift. The cam I have now is similar to the 6480 and I am much happier.
