pop the hood and check your coolant overfill tank. does it look rusty???
squeeze the upper radiator hose. is it soft or very firm?
rusty coolant, white/blue smoke, and a hard radiator hose are all signs for a blown headgasket.

maybe blow-by oil too!?

Installed an intake? Maybe its an oiled type and fouled up the MAF sensor? You could try cleaning the MAF sensor with electrical contact cleaner.

My next guess would be an injector.

My truck smokes when its cold, but once it warms up it doesn't. Also, it will only smoke if ambient temps are below 10°C.

I've been told by a GM Tech that GM doesn't really know why. That's why they won't replace them because of smoking issues.

Checking the coolant tank isnt always the best....Taking the cap off is better as you can have pressure in the system causing a false level

coolant
fuel
bad turbo dirty maf boost leak

keep a good eye on your oil check for fuel in it

Good luck

You probably have a mechanically leaking injector or injectors. You can check this by removing all your glow plugs, disabling the FICM and glow plug module and watching for fuel to spray out of any of the glow plug holes (protect eyes here) or use 2 strips of card board while cranking the engine over (engine should not start). Sometimes if the leak is bad enough you can just let it idle till the smoke is really cookin then when you pull the glow plugs the worst cylinders will have wet glow plug tips. this is just another test.

Friend of mine has an lb7 that smokes a little. Not much at idle, but hazes when driving. This truck has new injectors. My 03 used to do it as well.

brought the truck to the dealer on saterday they think my intake is causing the smoke, because it is geting more air and inturn tellin the pcm to push more fuel. anyone ever heard of that?

Your dealer is stupid. My truck has a huge intake and turbo on it and it doesn't smoke any. Can you check balance rates? I would be willing to bet its your injectors causing the smoke. This is going to sound crazy, but buy some cheap 2-stroke oil and dump about 1qt into a half full tank of fuel. Allow some time to mix, and check the amount of smoke...it should go down..if its just dirty injects.
