I run a 105 rwhp tune and have the transgo jr. I drive easy most or all the time, only hammer it once in a blue moon.

I turned on a on ramp with a suv on my bumper so i floored it from a 10mph roll. It took off hard and around 3rd or 4th, it seemed to quit pulling hard. It was still accelerating but got flat then it started pulling strong again a few seconds later when it went in another gear. I kept it to the floor this whole time.

It did not limp and never has to this day but was it slipping or is it searching from not being used to wot?

i would say slipping but i could be wrong. if it doesnt learn it will flare on the shifts but shouldnt stop pulling and then start again.

Ramer,TN.
Have you checked your rail pressure? Make sure you dont have a fuel issue. It could have been defuling a bit to protect the trans. Just a thought!

i didnt check the rail pressure but i think the evo may be able to and i will check.

I guess im right on the edge as far as holding power with 105rwhp. Alot of people say the transgo jr will hold 100 but i guess no one can know for sure, especially from truck to truck. The evolution is tested on a bone stock truck so with the exhaust and intake, i may have a few more than 105, idk.

I wish i had money to strenghten the tranny but atleast it didnt slip bad enough to limp. Thanks for the input everybody.

It can hold 100 hp over stock with a transgo JR but that is on STOCK tires. Larger tires are harder on the transmission and will slip easier than on smaller tires.

Mine does the same thing.. then when it gets into overdrive, it goes in limp mode. Overdrive is easy to limp on larger tires running with 100 hp tunes.

yeah, i havent given much attention to the larger tires and lift. I will probably back down to the next level. Its supposidly around 85 rwhp. Its not a race built truck and i have come to the conclusion that i need to not treat it as if i have a built trans and just drive it within its means.

I have an EVO on a bone stock tranny and had it since 2 months after it came out. I run the level 3 which I believe is the 85hp tune. It runs fine on that tune and has plenty of power. Sometimes on the Interstate from about 55mph on, I get some Torque converter slip, so in response to that, if I take off WOT, when it hits 4th gear, I back out myself a little to let it shift to 5th and 6th, then go 3/4 throttle up from there. In 6th, it likes to slip a lot.
I ran level 4 and found that the tranny slipped way too much, so it was a waste.
I hope that helps.
