LB7: Slight lope and hard knock on startup

Tech 2 or Solaris. Not sure if a v2 or autocal will read glow plug codes on LB7 or LLY
You can ohm test from block to the screw on portion of the glow plug. I have heard mixed numbers but under 5 ohms should be std for normal operation. I checked mine and all seemed to be good so now Im gonna either do a bench test or start checking the wiring from the glow plug controller to each plug. I'm positive its nothing more then your plugs. Check out a thread on here called "new setup is done", guy had the same issue and has a video on like page 9 or 10. Hope this helps!
Awesome thanks for the info guys! I'll look into that and I hope you find your problem also! I'm wondering if I could possibly be having a wiring issue because I did find some wires that go to the big connectors on the valve cover with the casing rubbed off and they were touching. I fixed those and it seemed to run better but now I'm wondering if there are more wires messed up somewhere else. I also talked to a gm mechanic who said that he's seen a few that had bad pins in the connectors and when it starts it will run weird until it warms up. He said the pins expand and make better contact so it runs normal again. You think this could be a possibility?
I’m gonna put a test light on each glow plug when you key on for a cold start. That verifies your controller and wiring is working properly. If that’s good you can check ohm loads on each one to see if any show bad. If nothing then I’m gonna bench test each one and make sure they glow in a reasonable amount of time. That’s gonna be my approach.
Thats a smart way of testing things and I'll definitely try that when I get the chance. I hope I find something because not knowing what it is really bothers me...
