I also thought I read somewhere that the Avalanche or Hummer H2 used a one piece shaft instead of the 2 piece with the slide collar.

It's like 900 for both shafts. But I'd have to spend another 1000 on a locker cause I run a Lincoln locker now. Otherwise I can't turn. And I don't see a reason to upgrade the pas axle as of yet... I've broke 2-3 stubs but never the pass axle.

my buddy has broke 3 slide collars. his truck is lowered with torsion bar bolts out completely. He was in the 700hp range. after the 1st one broke its been an issue. differential bushings were wore we replaced them and broke again.

When are you guys putting your trucks into 4x4 at your respective venues?
This almost sounds like a replay of moneypit's issue. His came from not having 4x4 fully engaged at the line b/c he'd "hit the switch" after the waterbox and didnt roll enough forward to fully engage 4x4 before going WOT.

Ive always got to the pull, put in 4wd low and left it there til I was done for the event. Sometimes it takes a while for the actuator to engage with the lowered t bars and or the weight hanging on the front ends.

Mine didn't come out of 4 low. One less thing to worry about. Yeah it's a bitch to turn but we had no issues even with the e-locker engaged.

Even if its not activity engaging or disengaging it can still break. Just like I said both times mine broke its at the end of the track. So been engaged for countless revolutions. Actually the first time it broke I broke 3 axles lol. Rear axle snapped and shock loaded the front. Broke the stub on the Ds and the collar on the ps. There is no way in hell I'm going to get a one piece axle unless I put hydraulic assist steering on it!
