How much hp you think could I squeeze out of a s464 with a stock cp3/injectors and how would you expect egt's to be? Just figured spooling the 464 would be a lot easier than the 472 but I'm just guessing.

472 Spools perfectly fine for street driving

A billet S472 should spool damn good with the right tuning. From what I'vr heard a billet turbo spools as quick as the next size down with a cast wheel.

I have had a both a 464 and 75 and while the 464 drove great and suited my original goals to a T I am much happier with 75. While it does spool a little slower it still isn't anything horrible and when it hits its no where near the same.

I still need to tow occasionally, that's why I worry about spool up. Lag won't bother me on the street.

How heavy do you tow and how often? I bought my turbo to suit what I do most with my truck, driving empty and playing at the strip. I do tow 5000 lbs weekly with no problems, and I tow heavy, 10k plus a few times a year. I havnt towed heavy with my big charger yet, but when I do I'll just run a lower gear to keep the rpms up.

yea I see a 472 over a 464 and a 480 over a 475 but not 2 that close. Or maybe they're not that close

In similar configurations ie 1.0 Turbine housing, 83mm exhaust wheel, standard compressor covers, and standard cast wheels the S475 will no doubt outperform the S472. Personally I wouldn't go to a S472 because I don't give a rats ass about spoolup all I want is the most power. That being said I have yet to see a Billet S472 out perform an S475.

I personally recommend most guys to go with just enough turbo to get the job done HP wise , if you need to big one for your goals the sacrifices wont be a big deal because it was needed , the bigger you go there are compromises and a lot of what you can get away with will depend on where your at in the country and were / what terrain you tow and drive through . at sea level and mild towing yes guys have towed with S475's and larger , in my neck of the woods it would be pretty tough to do , for DD though i wouldn't skip a beat to throw a S475 on a truck, I will always stick to compounds but there is alot more bang for your buck in a bigger single .

How does the 1057 do with the 475 ? I had wondered if I had to change to a looser converter to spool a larger unit.

The 1057 does great for daily driving and towing, but not so good at the track. With my stock charger and worn out Michelin LTX's I could consistantly 60' 1.7X with my best being a 1.72. With the tires I have now theres no doubt I could get some 1.6Xs . I've been to the track only once with the new charger and my best 60' of the night was a 1.92, most were 2.0-2.2 . Just couldnt build enough boost off the line. Truck ran good though even with the lousy 60' I managed an 8.12 at 86.9 in the 1/8th. My trap shows potential for a 7.7-7.8 with a good 60.
