well first off idk how my tranny is still together. I run either the stealth 215 tune, or the ppe hot tune on any level:)roflmao:), now i have 20"s and 33x13.50 nitto terra grapplers....now usually when i have my transfer tank(custom made 120gal rectangle that lays over the wheels)..and i keep it 1/2-full tank... my truck will keep traction and take off like a bullet(not as fast as you guys but fast to me:woott:) but i sence took all that out sence i bought a littler chevy to put that in so this isnt my work truck anymore, now on my stealth 215 tune i can bake the tire completley dry pavement until 4th gear(tranny should be blown by now)...i usually launch in 2wd but i raced my dads friends 2011 camaro ss last night(what a big hype for a shitbox) anywho...basically what im asking is what type of traction bar do i need...i tow a two car hauler with two full sized offroad truck or race cars, does that come into play?

Seems a lot of guys have had good luck with caltracs. Plenty of info on here about them. A search will probably net you everything you're looking for and more. :)

traction bars wont fix this issue. they stop wheel hop/axle wrap upon launch. if your breakin the tires loose that bad, the bars wont help you much

I don't tow a lot, or real heavy, but I have never noticed an issue. Long bars should cause less issues with suspension travel (heavy load bringing the back down for example)

get yourself some different tires (proxys seem to be the fav), use 4wd, use throttle control. i basically have no 1st or 2nd gear from a start in 2wd with a no boost launch. i have to use 4wd or give it jsut enough juice i dont rip the tires off from a start, then hit it hard once im almost through 2nd

guess traction bars are pretty worthless on the street:rofl:

they look cool tho!

They actually serve a very good purpose that is usually un-noticed by most (even i for a long time). with the power we make and tq, you get a decent amount of axle wrap at take off or in the lower RPM ranges where TQ is high. this puts added stress on the u-joints of your drive line and will wear them out quick due to the drastic changes in angle and "bounching" of the pinon. Untill i put my bars on, i never knew how much wrap i actually had.

yeah i wouldnt be afraid to click the 4wd in at any speed below 50. ive done it at 75 a few times but i wouldnt recommend it lol

ha ha yeah im making of traction bars on my 77 chevy k10 but i did that because of the axle wrap/hop with the 44" tires and the diesel :) didnt think this was as bad as with 33's maybe ill pickup a set

Caldwell , Oh
Also if you put it in 4X4 on any dry pavement or while moving you need to have the same size tires front and back and be sure to let off the throttle while shifting . Front tires with half tread and back tires roasted till they look like slicks are not good to play on dry pavement with . I'm not trying to be a smart a&& .

yeah i know the 4wd gig but these trucks arent as strong as the old k10's figured they would go into some king of safety check if put into 4wd while rolling...tires are brandy new :)
