so im somewhat lowering the duramax....currently keys are all the way down and im installing caltracs and pulling leafs tonight.

the front end rests heavy on the progressive dampener things the a-arm sits on. curious if i should trim those down a bit? i know i would ride better but im wondering if it would hurt me 60' times since the front end will in essence be softer?

your thoughts? thanks

Unbolt them before cutting I'd say.

I never noticed but my is sittin on them too. I guess I need to get rid ot them too to use my lowering keys

never though of that....truck drives like a log anyway... anything with this much weight over the front end is gonna corner poorly so im not real worried about that...but i may get anti-sway bars in the future to try and help a little

Beech, make sure you really want them cut. They are part of the suspension, I cut mine, and got new ones, they are 30 bucks each..

I was thinking of cutting or removing mine too since they are squished so bad since i lowered my t-bars. its like riding on rubber bump stops.

I should specify , i only cut enough off so that at the new ride height they were in the same relation as stock height , there function is a progressive rate spring so as the suspension travels further it beginns to bottom out and the further it squishes the higher the spring rate the rubber becomes so only trim what is nec , i think i only took an inch off mine but its been a few years .

the ones given in the Tough Country lift are only like 3/4" thick, and are poly. i'd try to find something similar as a replacement for lowered or lifted applications

I did not even bother putting those little buttons T.C. supplys in, There a joke IMO.. If my suspension compressed that far to make contact to the supplied T.C. buttons I would have alot bigger problems. I pulled my Jouncers (Bump Stops) out before I put the lift on, to get the truck a little lower and further correct the Angles and did not notice any ill effects. I would suggest a good set of ajustable front shocks to compensate for the lack of bump stops and stiffen the front end back up a bit in the corners. That and maybe a better sway bar would be nice:thumb:
