idk anything about this "adapter" he is talking about. That is just the $hit he is trying to feed me and i know it WILL NOT put out 70psi. He has never done me wrong when I had the ol dodge and he knows 12 and 24 valves like no ones business but I am not sure he has any idea about a chevrolet. Thats why I am asking you guys what you think about this idea, and what setup would be right for me. The plan was to build a mean a$$ street truck. I want something that would spool up quick but still kick in hard when it does. I didnt like how the stock one took so long to get boost. The boost valve helped a lot and it prolly took so long because it was bout to go out. So the dodge turbo wouldnt be a good idea? someone give me soe ideas here something to save for that would set me on the right track.

Rexburg Id.
After you buy that one you would be looking at around $500 or so for the pedistal, so much for a downpipe, custom feed and drain lines for the oil, custom intake, andcim sure im missing something here. So realy after all that its about equal to buying new from someone here like i said earlier

that 64mm dodge turbo isnt really going to make that mean of a duramax. Keep in mind we have to feed an extra ~44 cubic inches of displacement than the cummins guys do.

Well I tried getting ahold of trent no response yet. I guess that will give me time to get some moneys together :(. And I dont know how it put out 22 pounds of boost either I was really surprised! Also i dont think that 44 cu in of displacement means much of anything for what the turbo would put out, 64mm is 64mm no matter what you put it on, its moving the same volume of air. but it would be rated more hp for a 5.9 because of displacement and you would see a bigger difference on the cummins than a duramax. But either way im not going with that idea I would much rather just buy a nice kit and be done with it, instead of buying all this stuff to make the dodge one work.

the compressor can only compress as much air as the turbine allows it. less displacement equals less exhaust gas driving the turbine in turn causing the compressor to move less air.

OK so the point I was trying to point out when he said....."that 64mm dodge turbo isn't really going to make that mean of a duramax. Keep in mind we have to feed an extra ~44 cubic inches of displacement than the cummins guys do." If I were to use the dodge turbo, which im not, the displacement seems like it make up for it. That extra 44 cu inches puts out that much more exhaust therefore spinning the turbine more. Am I wrong here? Someone explain

I think a 64mm turbo would be similar to the GT4088 which im pretty sure is a 64mm turbo. It would be a step up from stock but not huge jump. Someone correct me if im wrong.

So after some thought I was thinking about getting Trent's base twin kit but it utilizes your stock Turbo. So I will be looking for a single Turbo to replace my stock one. Zerogravity I was wondering if you would part way with just your Turbo and would that make a good setup with Trent's twin kit?
thanks, greg

Greg, Trents base kit uses a 75mm as the atmosphere turbo... which is the same size as the GT4202. If I was you set an HP and spool up goal then go from there. a GT4202 is a great turbo and you would be very happy with it.

Well right now I am just going to save for a while and buy whatever I need. I'm not going to lie I'm pretty new to the diesel industry and I'm pretty quick at learning things I used to live with a ase mechanic and he taught me alot about gas motors he is a transmission technician too and knows the Allison like the back of his hand he is the one who helped me build my trans. Anyways I don't really know too much about turbos but I understand how they work. I haven't been able to get ahold of Trent I'm sure he has been busy but I'm untreated if he can provide a whole kit! If I remember right the other Turbo that Trent's kit provides is a s475. Idk if that is same as a the gt4202. All I know is I need a Turbo to replace my stock one that will work with Trent's kit.
