Starting a thread to talk about shooting and reloading. What do you guys shoot primarily and what do you reload. What do you use to reload, post pics.

I shoot .45 for competitions and have saved quite a bit of brass
I also shoot .223 and my wife goes through a ton of 9mm at the range

Going to be buying a full reloading setup during Black Friday. Also looking for a good ultrasonic cleaner and a way toc dry everything out after.

I do .223, .308, 9mm, 300BO, and 6.5CM. Everything is done on an RCBS rock chucker single stage. I like redding dies but the cheap rcbs are fine. For precision I like bushing dies, but regular full length sizing dies work fine. I wet tumble with a frankford arsenal rotary tumbler and dry with their brass dryer. I use a Chargemaster 1500 for precision loadings, otherwise I just use the rcbs measure that came in the kit. I only have experience with Hodgdon/IMR powder but have no complaints. Have some reloder 26 on the way for the 6.5CM to get more velocity over H4350.

Do you plan to load for precision or for bulk ammo? Honestly I cant load 9mm cheaper than I can buy it, I just enjoy doing it.

I used to reload and shoot 40 s&w, a ton of 223 and a little 9mm. since then I've bought a sig p365 and a coyote tan sig p320 x5. I just bought a new sig p320 x5 legion. so I'll be loading a ton of 9mm now, 223, 308 and some 6.5 creedmore.

I'm currently using an Hornady lock n load AP press, and ulta sonic. I've been really thing about stepping up to a Dillin XL750.

I use a Redding single stage. I currently only have dies for 223 and 308 as that is what I shoot the most other than 9mm

I use a Hornady lock n load with both Hornady and RCBS dies. I use a Lyman sonic cleaner and a Hornady brass tumbler. I got the tumbler because the Deser Eagle extractor is hard on the brass, and it smooths out the casings. Ill grab some pics tonight after work

The loads for competition just have just enough to cycle the gun otherwise everything else I want to reload is your run of the mill range practice ammo.

I've seen nice presses from Dillon, Hornady and Lee, I haven't decided what I want yet as long as it's progressive.

I think 9mm is just cheaper to buy, we got a place that sells 115gr reloads of 1000 for $175

As long as I can do my 45 and 223 I'm happy. Oh and my brother wants to do his 450 Bushmaster as they are like 2 bucks a round.

.40 .45 acp 45 colt 30.06 300wm 45.70. Single stage for all rifle and .45 colt. Progressive for everything else. All hornady. Stainless media for cleaning. This is where the magic happens......

Everything is done on an RCBS Rockchucker single stage kit. I still use the old RCBS beam scale. I had an RCBS electronic scale but it took a shit a couple years ago. Everything is loaded for precision. All brass is tumbled in corn cob media in a RCBS tumbler. I might try an ultrasonic cleaner someday, when I get a chronograph (I've been saying someday on that too).

If I was to load 9mm I'd get an RCBS progressive setup.

My main shooters are the .221 and 7mm-08, for groundhogs and deer respectively.

I have 4 presses set up to run, depending on what I am loading:
2-Dillon RL550 one for large primers, one for small primers (got tired of the time required to change the primer system out)
1-RCBS Rock Chucker (over 30 years old, my first press, used to decap brass)
1-Redding Turret Press (used to make my match ammo for the .308 Win and .300 RUM and all non-AR platform rifle cartridges)

All of my pistol and AR15/AR10 platform ammunition are run on one of the Dillons based on primer size. I found I could not make reliable match ammo with the Dillon because of the flex in the indexing head and rest of the system...I was getting inconsistent bullet seating depths by over 0.005" at times, so all of the Match and large rifle cartridges are now run on the Redding which I have multiple heads so my dies never have to come out of the press head.

If I did more shooting with a single handgun cartridge, I would look at one of the Dillon Square Deals for the single cartridge, then there is no messing around, just get materials and start to make ammo.

For measuring powder I either use the Dillon measures or a Hornady electronic dispensing scale-one charge per round on the Redding. I also have a Lyman electronic scale and an old RCBS beam scale.

For cleaning I went with a Dillon CV-2001 vibratory dry media tumbler. I have an ultrasonic cleaner I got on Amazon for truck parts which I can also use for cleaning brass. The Amazon unit was a lot cheaper and bigger than what Hornady or whomever sells. I'm to the point where I do not have to have perfect shiny brass, just cleaned out with no trash in the primer pocket, and my dry media does that without having to dry all the wet cases.

Anyone fine primers anywhere lol. More of a rhetorical question as anyone who reloads know they basically don't exist. I still have about 3k large pistol primers left. Switched to .22 in the AR to keep up on practice every week.

I didn’t know sourcing supplies was still an issue. I haven’t done any reloading in the last few years. Not even sure what I got left. What’s the speculation on the reason that the material is hard to get? Last I knew it was because of all the people freaking out over Obama.

As far as I can tell, it is just like the grate TP shortage at the beginning of the year. Its from lower production due to the shutdowns and excessive purchasing. Many that are forced to stay home are using up their time reloading

Only 2% of the worlds primers go straight to retail. The other 98% are dedicated to ammo production. Now that 100% of all primers are dedicated to ammo production there is nothing left. With that being said, primers are literally the only thing holding up ammo production at this point now that ateel/metals are back in world trade.
