Hey guys
I know I’m probably beating up old threads. My new 3500 LTZ came with rancho shocks and they ride like a brick!! I think I Made a mistake and put bilstein 4100 series in it. Had them in my 04 and actually loved the ride. The bilsteins do ride better unloaded however with the fifth wheel hooked up and coming to a stop I feel like there’s no shocks in the truck ( bounces bad ) any advice on a good all around shock that won’t loosen my teeth unloaded or should I just throw the ranchos back in for the once a year towing event?
Thanks!

I too recently replaced my 10 year old Bilstein HD's with the 5100's. Ride empty is very nice but my wife hates the ride when we're towing our 10k pound TT. On less than perfect roads like we have in our Idaho mountains, the ride is significantly more "bouncy" than the HD's, her words, not mine. Bouncy to the point that she has to hold her "jiggly girl parts" while towing our trailer.

If on the other hand you don't tow, or your significant "other" is an A or B cup, they're an upgrade...

i run rancho 9000's on the rear. around town i run 3 or 4. loaded down i run 6-8 depending on whats in the 5th wheel (determines my pin weight). i run no air bags and it rides nice and smooth.

Rancho 9000 are a great all around shock that gives you some adjustment to fit the bill. Look on the Rancho website and you wait for their buy 3 get 1 free sale.

To be clear the ranchos that came on it new are shit because GM orders a specific valving that will never compare to what rancho sells to the aftermarket so the 9000 will absolutely ride better
