What is the best way to ship heavy parts? I have some ford 6.4 heads that need work but don't trust any shops around here (and my little mill can't handle them). But I don't want to pay $175 each way (fedex/ups) they will be close to 100 lbs each packaged up.

I managed a shipping facility for a few years and shipping is like anything else...you get what you pay for.
Good service and cheap price don't go together. At 100 lbs. a shot your gonna get hit pretty hard if you actually expect them to get there in one piece. Find something local.
