I used freightquote to ship a pallet of converters back to precision, what a mess!!! The driver showed up with no info, before freightquote even sent me a BOL. I ended up using one of their blanks, since there was not one. They tried to deliver to a home address that was just a contact name/number LMAO. I fought with them for five weeks to deliver to the correct address, as it sat in a warehouse. Finally they got tired of it sitting there and shipped it to PI. Last time i will use their services.

Hate to say it but that sounds about right. :D

Ya know I have friends that are owner operators and I know it's the sign of the times but it's companies (brokers) like this that have killed the industry. The have even put a hurtin on LTL carriers. I recall years ago you use to open up the Yellow Pages and there would be a page or two of trucking companies. Today there is less than a half a column.

Ok since Tommy03 put that post in I should clarify. They may be every thing he says

I do not deal directly with Freight Quote but my customers do so perhaps it's my customer who makes it a pain in the ass for me. Like I said they find a LTL carrier and schedule the pick up. What happens to me is my customer makes these arrangements which I hate and a trucker shows up at my facility with NO INFORMATION but they have a pick up.

So then I have to do research or just send him packing with nothing. Where I feel Freight Quote could be better since YOU HAVE TO USE THEIR FREIGHT BILL should ensure by way of phone call or fax with the freight bill PRIOR to sending in a truck!

Guess I'm just bitching as it makes a hassle for me and my secretary! :D

Yes I put partial blame on my customer but IMO Freight Quote could do a better job in that department of advanced notice of the Carrier and documentation! That is all

Most of what you are saying here is the carrier they are sending in. My company uses our BOL and we have to have a reference number before we go in for the pickup. The company I was previously with is Freightquotes biggest carrier and they also use there own BOL.

Just checked our agreement and freightquote does not require there BOL to be used.

For what it's worth the carrier does come in with a reference number as you say but it means a hill of beans to me unless I'm given the reference number ahead of time so I know what shipment they are here for.

Thing is ,which isn't known to carriers is we have multiple shipments going to all different destinations daily. So a carrier shows up and says I have a pick up with a reference number that I have not been given and thats all they have makes for a pain in the ass. If I was sitting here with one shipment going to one place it would be a no brain'r ,isn't the case. See what I'm saying

In addition to all that as far as the BOL we cannot generate a BOL on our own which we do with every other shipment(s) that leaves here IF Freight Quote is involved. It very well might be the carrier and not Freight Quote that requires it as perhaps I stepped out with out all the facts as my secretary does the shipping not I.

Bottom line I've seen truckers standing here waiting for a BOL to be faxed to us before he gets loaded up and on his way as I said we cannot generate our own. None of it really matters to me as I don't arrange shipping nor documents I just go about my biz. :D
