Shims to adjust pinion angle

I haven't lowered it yet but I'm just trying to make sure I have everything here when I start. I know raising the rear of the leaf connection is going to tilt the pinion down and increase the angle some, maybe it won't be that bad.

Hopefully I can get a free weekend to start and finish this project. Wanted to do it last weekend but had family in town. Headed out with a trailer load of fourwheelers this Friday so this weekend is shot too. Looks like it might be November before I can knock it out.

I don't have any shims in mine either and it's got 2" shackles. What's the benefit of the shim? My truck doesn't vibrate or eat u joints.

I didn't use any shims with 3" drop shackles.
They only take thirty minutes to install.
