Hey guys im new to duramaxs so any help would be greatly appreciated. A few months ago I bought an 04.5 lly, well every once in a while it screechs when the tranny shifts, last night I bought a programmer for it. And when it shifts down when I put my foot on it there is a loud screeching noise...any idea what it cojld be?

Do you have a straight pipe exhaust? When I had the Diablo programmer in mine I could hear the turbo making a screeching type noise through the exhaust between shifts. I assumed it was due to the change in turbo vane position made by the programmer because now with efilive it doesn't do it. I don't think it affected the truck at all but it was annoying.

Tuning can help I believe. Its a common issue, not many people really care about it. Its not great for the turbo, but Ive seen people do it literately thousands of times without any problems. If its doing it excessively, like just normal driving, the turbo might need rebuilding.
