I've recently stepped back into a dirty. It's an 05 lly with 165k. I'm in the process of beginning the build however the trand build will most likely be a year or so down the road..so in the meantime shift kit? Heard good heard waste of time. So coming here for help. I'd love to to have that extra added help for the shift kit but with the truck having a 165k is it too late to add. Heard that adding one at this time and fresh fluids would kill the trams and to just leave it alone. So all you Allison guru's. What's your stand point on the subject..

I believe you have to pull the trans on the 5 speeds to install the transgo. Probably not worth it.

If your going to do a trans-go you would be better off doing a build at the same time.Your already at the build stage once torn down to install it.Lots of good folks here to help you along the way!

As far as I can tell in a 5 spd the rams will need to be dropped and front half diss. So other than adding a transgo to it now I'll be better off putting the money Into my trans build fund
