No...I didnt take "Ol' Bendy BBT" to the track....Im talking about work.

Delivered 182 stops with 269 packages today! Drove 214 miles. Got out to the route at 9:30, and finished at 18:45. Was absolutely flying all day. Amazing how smooth everything came off the car.

Beat my old highs of 173 and 255, set two weeks ago. Christmas on my route is going strong!

To give some perspective, my normal route is 105 stops, 160 packages, 185 miles in a larger geographical area

you deliver packages in a car? It would probably be more efficient to use a truck/van tom. :D :p:

man thats a lot though, I bet you guys get a workout on xmas! Nice job!

the thread title made me go  for a second too...

You drive for UPS or something?

Yep. Almost 25 years now. Been on my current route for 13.

LOL how many boxes did you drop?;)
None, but couldnt find two next day airs this AM, so they were late.

shit, thats moving. probably should be draggin the UPS rig if you haulin that fast :D
I think it'd be hilarious, but the dang thing has a speed limiter. 6.7 cummins/allison

Not to much conversations with the Clients today huh? "Hi Tom" , "Sorry , Gotta go!!!" :D
That is exactly what happens. They know Im in "Christmas mode".

Congrats, too bad you don't get paid by the box. :thumb:
Actually, we do in a way. Its called "bonus", and I bet I made about an hour extra.

Here's the math:

Xmas Regular Day
214 miles 185
182 stops 105
9.25 Hours 9.25

23.14 mph 20.00
19.68 stops/hr 11.35
3.05 min/stop 5.29

Definitely no time for chit-chat....and I'm thinking boxes were flying around the back to get that avg MPH...

Congrats Tom!

The funny thing is while reading this, all I could think about is the opening scene in Ace Ventura when Ace pretends to be a HDS delivery guy :spit:

edit: (it was originally scripted as a UPS delivery guy, but I'm sure there would have been legal issues with that)

I know you take your job seriously, and glad you do, but that scene really cracks me up.

Hmm...I never compared them that way. Damn...I was flying. Dont worry...packages werent flying around the back of the truck.

BTW, it ended up being a 12.73hr paid day. Today was 161 stops, 213 packages....and the dispatch mgr took 20 stops off. Yes, business is good.

I do take my job very seriously, but I have fun doing it. I figured you guys may like a glimpse into UPS at Christmas.
