I have a 2008 LMM that is getting the display "service trailer brake system" when I start the truck I honestly don't even know where to begin looking any recommendations?

That IMO POS system didn't last long before I by passed it.. Then find that it gets power from a 14ga wire and everything else is 12/10ga wire.. I pulled it of the fuse box and wired it straight to the battery, fused of course with a 40A breaker. This weekend I'll be running a 10ga power wire to the brake controler .
Some people have had good experience with the OEM version.. I obviously have not

I've had the same experience. My dad's '09 will almost lock up the tires on our 24,500lb dually goosneck. However a family friend with an '07 said even with the gain maxed out he didn't feel much braking.

Look at the connector plug at the back of the truck. Is the cover on it? Did u recently wash the truck? At the dealer, i see So many people break off the cover then when it gets washed it burned the connector up....look in there see if its looks burned

I'm supposed to go camping this weekend so I looked into this and the one and only thing that I did and it seemed to fix is was the fuse box in the engine compartment I lifted the release arms and pressed them back down until I heard click and no more light on my dash. i hooked up my trailer and it is showing its connected.

I sent you some general info about the ITBC system. See PM. May be of help, maybe not. At least you'll have a general idea of what's going on with the system.

Good that what you did seemed to do the trick. Only wish they were all that easy.
