You can sort of see the faded gray plastic in that photo. But a closer look you can definitely see it

Chrome replacement ones seem to be going for a few hundred dollars. Spray paint $10 😁

Also. The transfer case has a leak. I don't think it is the dreaded pump rub.

After pressure washing all that grime off. And waiting a bit, a few small drips formed right at a few of those case bolts. Probably still going to pull the transfer case soon to install the pump rub kit. Then I can reseal all those bolts

Was this for sale up in reno? I saw a single cab up there that was a 4x4. Similar to my first duramax

So he pulled into town Friday night, pulled it Saturday and started dressing the shortblock I had built earlier. Spent Sunday getting the covers on the now long block and pre lubeing it and then dropping it in.

Now here we are on Monday just need to adjust the tune, fire it up to check for leaks, and put a good tune in it.

Congratulations Jason!

Well worked on my '75 K20, new shocks up front, PS pump, hydraulic hoses made for pressure side, bought little HF garden wagon to make my pressure washer substantially more maneuverable on none hard surfaces. Pressure washed the front fenders and front core support, and radiator. Got one coat of flat black enamel on fenders and core support, removing everything off the truck that I was using as a storage shelf/rack.
Ordered 1.5/1.5" double male barb from ICT to shorten the upper radiator hose.

Put a bigger fuel filter in my wagon, got a new fuel tank for it that needs installed..

While making dinner, floating market place find a clean straight 4*4 ECSB frame.. for almost 1/2 what most are wanting for them... After I spent all my play money 🤦🏻‍♂️

Looking at Heading out to Henderson NV Feb/Mar time frame next year, to meet up with an old friend and get the last State checked off the bucket list..
kinda like to have my LMM up and running for that trip.. mainly for 4*4 has my suburban is only 2wd, Though a suburban is substantially better road trip vehicle IMO

Been plugging away on the flatbed for the Kodiak. Been a slow process with tweaking my wrist in a drill and the rain. Freakin rained all weekend. 1/4-1/2 our annual rainfall in 2 days.

Is there a standard height to shoot for on those hitches or is it more based on your trailer setup?

I don’t think there is a standard height. The companion isn’t even adjustable on the flatbed version. But basing it off my 2500, the frame of the Kodiak is 2” lower and I use a puck system in the 2500. After all is said and done, the hitch height on the Kodiak is around 3” lower. Which is good because the 5th wheel rides high in the front and I didn’t want to adjust it and bring it closer to the bed rails.

Random question, what's are con rod options now? Roughly building a~700hp capable block that would probably spend most it's life around 5-550hp so I don't have to put hard parts in the transmission.. lol

I've still got my oval's with ~350k on them 😎

I am only shooting for 650 on my LBZ. I ordered the callies rods and cast motorsports pistons through Brad on here. The other option would be so cal street rods or wagler if you want aftermarket rods.

Flipping thru channels this morning, came across "TwoGuysGarage" working on what looked like an LMM Dmax. New turbo and multiple cosmetic changes, nothing of substance. I could barely stand watching. My head hurt after. Good Lord.

It's interesting for people who have the capacity to change their own oil
Honestly, I think they insult even those people's intelligence.

Pulled the engine on the Regal last weekend. Started tearing it down yesterday to see just what was causing the oil/coolant mixing and the huge amount of white smoke. Brand-new GM head gasket did not show any obvious signs of leakage. Checked block with straight edge, did not see anything wrong with it. Im a bit stumped. Head may possibly be cracked, but Id have to have it pressure tested to find out.
Going to continue on and pull pistons and see if any are cracked.

Figured I should at least do this before I buy another engine.
