It's been a while since I've read anything about it. But I figure I may as well do it. Is there a DIY kit available so I could do my own heads? Or do I absolutly need to send them out to get done?

Nick not sure how close to a machine shop you are but I'd just have them do it to ensure its done properly.imo They shouldn't charge much.
Are you suggesting ordering the !! kit and having a machine shop do it? or is there another place that sells threaded cups? I am getting ready to pull the heads on a lb7 for studs, gaskets and 60% injectors, haven't put any thought into threaded cups but might not be a bad idea while its apart.
If Scott has any sets in stock, I'd get some from him; only place I'd get them from actually.

I've got a set of scotts cups in my pickup, had them in for a couple years now and no issues at all, (also great guy to deal with.) I found a local machine shop that does some motor work and odds and ends jobs to thread them for me, if I remember right it wasn't that pricey either. Definitely worth it to have them set up on a cnc to ensure a true tapped hole:thumb:

Would any of you know what thread size is used on the ends or if you need to use any kind of sealer on the threads when installing? I’ll make a set myself.
Theres a video on youtube of somebody installing the industrial screw in cups. They showed them using red loctite in large amounts before screwing the cups in. You may be able to get thread info by looking up the tap they sell.
