I should have put this up front instead of just asking random questions-

I had a SC V trans from 2010 that had a trim A transgo spring break, which lead to some trans lockups-locking up tires on the downshift. I also had a stock LLY trans laying around.

I ordered a rebuild kit, SC C2 hub, P1 sungear and P2 planetary. when I opened the SC up, it had the above damage to it, and instead of ordering new parts, I decided to go to the LLY trans. I put the bellhousing, pump and valve body from my SC (after cleaning and inspecting) onto the LLY trans with the rebuild kit.

The trans shifts great, temperatures stay between 135 and 155 on a 70* day, but I have a slight bearing noise when in P or N that goes away when I put it into gear (stop the input shaft from spinning-so I know it isn't the pump).

To give you an idea of the level of noise, you can hear it just above the engine noise but if I turn my noise airdog on it drowns it out.

That’s usually the the converter you’re hearing. Goes away under load.

it does sound like it is in the very front.
And I am paranoid about my first build so I'm hearing every noise :roflmao:

Id bet you’re fine and you never noticed and now you’re freaking out. It’s common and not a bearing bearing in the trans making that sound.

last question then I'm done-I hope

based on the pictures on the book I'm not sure if I put the T4 bearing (between P1 and P2)in upside down or not. I was reading that this was a not unheard of mistake back a few years ago-so
It will be really inconvenient for me to pull the trans back out right now is this something that might last 700 miles until I can get the truck back home pull it and make sure/ replace it? I know the right answer is it comes back out asap but it would make my life much easier if I could drive it home if I have some time before it goes.

yes I'm being paranoid.

I normally do, but I got screwed up looking at page 97 of the 2017 ATSG item 8.

Ill give you a call Monday and order a T4 from you, and hope it holds together for a few hundred miles

T4 is the only bearing that can techinacally go either way believe it or not so don’t waste your time worrying about it.
