Yep starting to get up there for pump gas.

Flat tops and 75cc heads looks like an interseting set up. approx 9.12.

Are the heads new?

Yes they haven't even left AFR yet. I can get a 11cc dish piston, just dont know how the dish will affect quench?

There are arguments for both flat top and dished with regard to quench and swirl.

The dished pistons will have a thicker crown and will be a little heavier overall. Could be a plus for durability, but hurt acceleration.

I built alot of 9.49:1 NASCAR engines in the mid 1990's with both flat tops and dished and the flat tops always seemed to run a little better.

These were 8,000 rpm, roller cammed, dry sumped engines with restricted carbs, so a little different than this application. But also did quite a few street engines as well.

I'm not sure about today, but when I left, the AFR 75cc heads tended to flow a little better than the 65cc heads. The 75cc heads were more of an open chamber design and the 65cc were more of a closed chamber design.

There was talk of just using the 75cc design for eveything and then milling .060 off the deck to get to 65cc. (usually .006/cc) Then milling .060 off the intake side to correct the alignment.

Again, not sure about their chamber designs today, been gone for 5 years...........

Well Damn, going to have to run 11cc dished. The stock heads were 64cc, so I was trying to go back together in a similar manner. Oh well, these should be a huge improvement.

My block is a brand new GMPP roller. Also going to EFI, so this engine, like I said, should be a real runner compared to the 1987 engine it's replacing.

Just the heads should provide a 60ftlb and 60Hp increase over what you had.
Sounds like a nice project. :D
