Gates open at 3 on saturday and tug of war will start at 4. Races will begin at 7 and will run untill 10:30. At 10:30 they will anounce the 8 fastest trucks and call them up to the staging lanes and will begin the quick 8 race.

IIRC, people have brought their campers and stayed overnight at similar events, but saturday is when everything is happening.
