Ok say what you want but I bought a Saab ,if I recall it was a 03 what was it a 9/3 model with a 2.0 turbo? I think that was it anyway it actually was a decent car. I didn't drive it much ,it was my wifes car and she liked it. It was fairly comfortable in ride and road noise.
I believe I even picked Moonshine Man up in it at the airport once. It had plenty of pick up and go power for a lil 4 banger and believe me I trumped on it when I drove it. IF it had a stick in it then a auto I would have enjoyed it even more but the wife wont drive standard.
Now the bad it was loaded with gremlins.
But I was under warranty so I didn't give to shits and was always given a loaner. The list was quite long.
1) Replace front door window regulators
2) Replace all 4 door exterior handles (faded)
3) Replace all 4 door lock mechanisms
4) Water leak ,soaked rear carpet, was a door gasket
5) Replace rear carpet see above
6) Replace heater blower motor (tech miss diagnose)
7) Replace heater switch. Funniest ass shit the fan motor had a mind of its own and would just run anytime it wanted and drain the battery)
8) Replace Battery
9) Factory recall for bad o-ring transmission line which fried the transmission. That was a biggie. They had to replace EVERYTHING! Since it fried they had back orders on parts they had the car for 3 months! :roflmao:
10) Replace radio it wouldn't eject CD's.
Thats all I can remember at the moment! I owned it for 4 years. :roflmao:
Nonetheless I would have bought a new one IF I could have gotten a standard transmission. They really aren't a bad car if they are under warranty. I would not own one out of warranty thats for-sure.
My wife wanted me to get her another one.
The newer models that I drove as loaners were really nice. Take one out for a spin you'd be surprised. Performance ride and over all quality is pretty good. Well obviously not now IF they are declaring bankruptcy which is very unfortunate for people that do own them. That would be a bit scary for me.
Also I will add the heater switch that made the fan run when the car was off really pissed me off as when the tech replaced the door lock mechanism he screwed up the install and didn't put the rod back on correctly so you were locked out of the car as the battery was dead and the key would not unlock the door. So it was jimmied in and towed away. That sucked luckily it was on a weekend and she didn't need the car. Also the service people at Valenti motors in Watertown where I bought the car were top notch! Great people never had one issue with them when I brought the car in. Maybe because they had a lot of practice!
