I wouldn't even want to tow on a .90 housing. It's been done before, use the search, IIRC it was Dustin at DA that was posting about it.

The guy I bought my bottom end from hated towing with his 72. He had one with 87mm turbine/.90 housing and an 83mm turbine/. 90 housing and wasn't very pleased with EGTs while cruising and pulling hills.

I would HATE to tow with my 75 83/1.0... If I could lock/unlock at will it wouldnt be a big deal.

I tow around 5-8k on a weekly basis with a bullseye 375/87/.90 and it does very well. If you like to just slap it in D and go then you wont like it at all. You have to being willing to shift yourself to hold gears or drop a gear to stay above 2k. Having your shift points moved up helps a ton also. I towed a skid steer on a 22' bumper pull equipment trailer a few times as well. Probably weighed close to 17k combo through some hilly terrain and it never went over 1200º. It is a bit more work to do, but it's not as bad as most would think. We are getting a G/N soon and I'll let you know how it does pulling a 14k pound load.

I must add I tow on the same tune that runs 11.70s because I have not had time to make a DSP file for this setup. I'm sure if you make a tune that maxes out at ~400rwhp it wont be much of a workout. It would be nice to be able to flat foot it on hills and not back out when the charger hits 30psi and wants to zing up to 50.

In Brian's defense I have never seen anyone post up sooooo many new threads within the past month instead of commenting on others and searching...

both are horrible choices IMO.

X2... now, for the hand full of times I have told you its not a good idea to tow with a 75 as much as you plan on, can it be done? Yes. Is it smart and will you like it hell no.. the best thing you can do and MOST economical thing is to add a 480 or 483 off your 66 and be done with it. Cause if you think you can just hook up to your boat or car trailer with a a s475 and just go like its stock you have another thing coming.

To add to what Nick posted.. I LOVED towing with 66/80 twins I had in my GMC... Left the same tune it made 650rwhp on, and towed a truck round trip to Mike L's... I miss them.

Should of never sold that truck... Kept it, made it a decent DD with good power, and then built the RC like you have for mostly straight race :thumb:
