Look for some info from some guys who have ran either one. One of the two will be going on a single stock pump lbz with 60 overs up pipes and manifolds and of course a trans and lift pump. Looking to make in the high 600 range. What is guys see for egts, drive pressure, spool up, ect. Any info from the turbo gurus and guys who have ran either turbo will be greatly appreciated.

I have a precision ml stock stall converter. My turbine is an 83...specs are 72/83/.90

It does just fine on stock stall...but I do have plans of having it restalled to 2500 or so and going to an 87mm turbine..I think I will keep the .90 housing as well.

I think a higher stall will make a world of difference.

650 hp street truck, street race, drag race and sled pull. I want a single to compete with the guys running a s475 over stock with a stock pump.

Details what was your opinion on the 2 turbos? The truck is used mainly as a toy and I'll occasionally tow but nothing major.

I like both, that being said they both have their place. The 72 vgt did great on spool and had awesome street manners. Towed good and didn't smoke while doing it. With 60 overs you will be over the 650 mark easy. The Fleece S471 with proper tuning it will do everything and more when you are ready. You might even consider the S468. Daily driving is no different and just as fun! Spool up is quick and the power just doesn't seem like it ever ends. The S468 and S471 will have a huge power gain over the VGT with the same tuning in the truck like mine did. I towed my suburban from Indy back to arkansas 10.5 hrs with crusing egt's of 7-800 and grades rising to 1100. Not bad in my book for a turbo that can easily make 1000hp and drive so good on the street. I have yet to dyno my truck, but with my weight and et it puts me in the 950 range. So there are no limits.

Here is a little video I took tonight of some spool up action of my s472 with 1800 stall converter. Floored from a dead stop to show reaction time of the turbo. This tune ran 12.05 prior to the tcm tune that is on the truck in this video. Shifting at 3700 rpm really keeps you on top of the turbo. Really needs the 87mm turbine tho, egts were fine before the tcm tune shifting at 3200 rpm. Shifting at 3700 rpm added about 250 additional degrees to my egts.

Good info guys I appreciate it. Now for the question that always seems to be a hot topic between turbos. Do you guys think you saw a significant drop in egts at WOT runs going from a Vgt to a fixed? Will I have a little bit safer buil by lowering drive pressure?

I saw 350° drop going to the s472 from the 72vvt. Same exact tune and everything...even had the check engine light from not seeing the vvt.

Sounds like the 4094 will be coming out the valley. What will I need? I have a high flow y bridge with DHD low profile intercooler pipin, hsp up pipes and manifolds coming. I'm assuming I'll need a t4 pedastal, 3.5 down pipe, hotside intercooler pipe (my afe won't work) and I guess my s&b will not work.
