Is it possible to machine a 74/83 s400 exhaust housing to fit the bigger 88/96 wheel?

Yes it is, I actually have one, but someone currently has it and is supposed to get it back to me.

That's what Mark and other turbo companies are doing lately. I know mark starts with a 87/80 housing though.

Are you talking t4 or t6? I will be using a T6 housing.

Did you start with the 74/83 housing and just cut out material or is there more to it then that?

You actually have to press a slug in to fit the 96/88 wheel.
The heat shield is larger.

On the smaller cartridge the heat shield is just a little bigger than the 87mm turbine.

That is how most do it, bore the housing out and press a slug in and tig weld it in place...

Where do you get the slugs?
