I wouldn't run either of those turbos with 30k trailer or grossing 30k either
S362/s364.

I have a gt4088r(63.5m) comparable is the s362 which actually flows more. I gross upwards of 36,000lbs and it's the biggest single turbo size I'd put on it..
If you want more 62/75-80 twins

X2 or twin the stock turbo

Only thing with Twins is oil temp

oil temp goes up as you increase HP on a single and try to tow too. every watched a stock dmax and the oil temps it hits with just a hot tow tune pulling the hills? its not good.... dont just think a second turbo is the one making all the extra heat, more to it than that. it does contribute, just not to the extent most like to think

Oil gets easy 80% of its heat from piston cooling.

VGT turbos put more heat into the oil than standard turbos say a 10° drop in oil temps after removing the VGT which the vanes are controlled by oil pressure

So cooler egts will in theory drop oil temp even if making a little more power.... makes sense but my lml with 475 over stock loses some serious oil pressure when I start towing much and my Temps stay under 1100 all the time pretty much. Will drop to 36 lbs at 1800 loaded versus 44 lbs at 1800 unloaded

Ive been towing with a 369 for a little bit, but rarely tow more then 15k with it. i have the same issues with my lml, but with the tap shifter i can stay on top of the charger. i feel like i should have gone with a 46-something for longevity reasons but so far after 50k i haven't had any issues with it. :thumb:

Thanks guys.

I know compounds are hands down the best option for towing but after installing 60% injectors and dual fuellers my buddy that tunes my truck informed me that compounds with be a kiss of death to my bottom end.

60% overs and dual fuelers are a kiss of death in them self with that turbo setup. running a twin vs what you have now wouldnt matter. It still comes down to quality tuning

Agreed ^^^

We have it tunes pretty conservatively right now but it's still smokey for my taste especially with a trailer.

that turbo is too large to follow the stock TCM shift tables, a locked converter and stay clean without pulling back fuel so far you go no where. it needs RPM. If you stay at or above 1800rpm, it will like you much more. 1800 rpm is like the stock turbo at 1500rpm. it will work and still pull but EGTs will be high and you will be under the turbo map.

So how’s everyone’s doing? I put one on my zf6 and I’ve been towing around 30k with it for about two years on 100%’s and twin 10% pumps.

My truck is down needs the trans refreshes up. 7 years commercial plowing and 240k on the built one that’s in it. Can’t complain truck takes all the abuse. The turbo is still tight has about 65k miles km it now. Still tuning sportsman pump and sacs65% injectors with about 80k.
