i am going to be getting one of mpi's twin kits using my current s300 as the little charger, this set up is overkill for what i'm running now this kit is supost to suport 800-900 hp from what nathan told the shop thats handling the ordering , but i have future plans for when the motor gets built . this kit is still in the works so i will have to wait a couple months for it to get finished but my names on one , sucks cause this money is burning a hole in my pocket :D, anyways what should i expect from this twin setup i plan on wastegating it at 40-45 psi to keep things somewhat stock motor safe but do you guys think this twin setup will be all that i have pictured way cool egt's, same spoolup i curently have no more towing egt issues and alot faster track times if i can keep ther motor together ? i dont know what the big charger is going to be but i would think it would have to be a big s400 or gt45 ? i am going to call nathan but dont know if he will share his secrets were the kit is still in the works . the guys on here are some of the best in the dmax world so tell me what you think ? i will no longer be running meth, and sold the ntrous kit i had but never installed , i dont want to have to use drugs to deal with my problems anymore : ) hee hee hee

Your 66 is going to be big for a secondary

big good or bad , i figured if its laggy i can go down to a 64 or 62 wheel, the a/r is .90 and the high flow feed pipes with the 1055 converter it spools great right now but dont know how it will changed once the twins are on any advice is welcome .i about to spend alot of money just want to make sure i get it right.

he will probably use a S480 sized charger. This is very similar setup that alot of dodge guys run. I would guess to see somwhere around high 70 psi of boost. I am hoping to build a similar setup very soon. Your gonna need more fuel to make that big charger happy. And with that much boost and that much fuel you bottom end isnt gonna last long.

Good Luck, should be an awsome setup

i hope so i am planning on trying to waste gate it at 45 psi or so but i know my days are #ed on the bottom end if it can make it through next race season i plan to build it next winter . i am going to tune it on a dyno and try to tune it to to 570-600 and the rods might last a season if i keep the boost low.

ya I agree with travis I doubt Nathan will use a Garrett turbo but rather an S480 of some sort... Garretts are very expensive.

As for the fueling part of it you dont have to run a dual kit to get you deep in the 12's but if your planning on doing a build you might as well upgrade now. Good Luck

I would get some 2xCP3's and some big injectors and cut you timing way back and PW way back and I think you should be fine for a race season. This is what I will do

sadly after this twin kit money is gone but i agree with you on that set up thats how i want to biuld it when i do the motor, i will do sticks if mine fail or when the build gets done and i wont run a duel cp3 till the motors built thats going to limmit power output but thats the point to run conservative till i can get her built up. right now i'm trapping at 108.7 with alot of unburned fuel i think i will see low 12's but not much more till i add more fuel but low 12's with 1300 deg egt's are right up my alley :)

Ol idahoRob knocks off sub-12 sec. passes with a single CP3 and MPI twins based off the stock LBZ charger. I feel you should be able to do similar with your setup. Oh, and his is a stock engine as well. He DID go ahead and do injectors though so he could lower PW and adj. timing some more and I believe he picked up a few tenths.

His trucks are some of the best real street trucks I've seen on the net. There may be others out there but his (his past LLY and now his LBZ) are real performers for what little he apparently has done. I really think a good deal of it is driver ability. He must just be good and know how to set his stuff up just right to optimize all he has. Not many people run the way he does though with comparable work done to their truck. Impressive IMO!

Thanks Mitch, I appreciate the kudos! Guess having a drag strip 15 minutes from home and about 800 1/4 mile passes helps get them dialed in. I think this was the first weekend in my racing career that I left one tune in the truck without changing anything:rofl:.

Should be in the 11's on that setup with a single CP3. My truck runs in 48-50 lbs of boost at the track and with your better flowing chargers, I see no reason you won't be in the 11's at 50 or less lbs.

I currently am putting a hold on recommending the big Garretts. Seems their life expectancy is poor, and getting them rebuilt or warranteed is not always possible. Too expensive to be a "wear component".

i talked to nathan today and he thinks the kit will work well he said i might loose a touch of time on spool up but he said ifs its spooling good now i shouldnt worry wich it is, he said to set the waste gate around 50, and it wont matter only running it with 1 cp3 i just wish the kit wasnt a while out i'm excited :nanawrench::driving:, thanks for all the answers guys it a little unerving getting ready to drop 5k and not nowing what to expect and hoping this will be the last charger upgrade i ever have to do .

Is Nathan using the big Garrets in his kits?

Trentnell perhaps money is a issue but if you tune duel cp3s correctly i think they are the shiznitt....From what ive found duel cp3s are ONLY destructive in greedy hands

What Travis and Mitch have posted is great advice IMO those guys DO know what they are talking about

Good luck with the twins! Im sure you will love them....spooling the lil turbo is only going to take a lill bit of of work:)

your are right money is an issue i got to take it one thing at a time you guys no the game;) and i can be kinda greedy sometimes but htey may find there way on my truck if the funds arive. what do you meen a will take a little bit of work ? like getting it dialed in , tuning , thats the only thing i'm worried about is finally getting twins and it spooling slow , but as i said i can always put a smaller wheel in it . ?
