Anybody else have this problem? Shitty connection from the very beginning with this intake. That silicone is just way to short to hold.

Mine doesn't do that. I think on mine that boot is bigger...will have to look. I know the one closer to the filter on mine is deteriating bad and need to be replaced.

Wonder if they supplied me with the wrong boot:confused: When the boot is pressed on each end to the ridge of the mouthpiece and 90, there is zero flex. The mouthpiece and 90 actually make contact with eachother.

Why do I keep doing this?

No S&B arent junk. Did you buy the intake new? If so, could they have accidentally sent you an LLY connector? Im sure if you sent them an email with that pic explaining the problem, they'd help you out.

Its not an LLY connector. They look totally different, and yes I bought it new. Notice how part of the S&B logo is covered up by the boot. Thats the only way it would all fit together with the mouthpiece clocked the same degree as stock. Are yalls the same, or did you guys rotate the mouthpiece clockwise so it would fit better??? You can tell by if the tab on the turbo cover and the tab on the mouthpiece make contact. May have to email them.

May be a dumb question, but have you checked your motor mounts lately? Mine did the same thing when i realized my drivers side was torn in half

Ok here is a pic of mine. It looks the same but I don't have a problem with it coming apart and the 2 pieces don't touch.

I was going to ask if you had the box installed correct. I know it had alignment issues with the bolt holding it to the radiator support. I'd loosen all the clamps, align everything and start tightening the clamps at the mouth piece and go forward.

I sure am glad this forum has a block user feature! :woott:

I just installed a new S&B intake on mine and the boot covers up some of the S&B logo as well. Have you noticed if this affects sealing? Did you ever get your's sorted out? Thanks.

Yeah that bolt thing sucks. My filter box is just hanging out there loose.

Mine too. Ya the bolt thing is uber gay.
When I had all the stock S&B stuff on mine used to come apart once in awhile too. The hose clamp would squeeze the rubber back a little and then when I hit bigger bumps with the loose airbox it would come off and I would get a MAF sensor code. (Obviously)
A bigger shoulder or longer area between how much of the boot actually covers the plastic would be a large improvement IMO. And a better airbox.
