Rust prevention

One of the batteries in my truck was leaking and caused some serious carnage

Any tips for stopping the rust from spreading and fixing the damage that was done?

Baking soda will neutralize the battery acid. You will have to wash it down, scrub loose scale off and coat with rustproofing such as Por15, or a less permanent option like Fluid Film.

Get a new tray. They're like 30 bucks

Yank the pan assembly, sand blast it, and coat it in a POR15 or similar. Should out last the rest of the truck at that point, and you may be stripped like a tiger with permanent epoxy :rofl:

I'd get a new battery tray. $30 on Amazon with Prime shipping. You'd spend more than that on the paint and prep.
