This has been talked about before years ago. I remember reading about it on duramaxforum and the diesel place.

If I remember right the end conclusion was it wasn't going to work so well. I don't have the link off the top of my head though.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge with chime in.

I just compared my old driver side manifold with my new passenger side manifold and the bolt holes look like they are the same when they are side by side.......

They are correct on the manifolds being specific to the sides because of the bolt pattern. They are also correct on putting a passengers side manifold on the drivers side requires the outlet to face forward and vise-versa.

Did it not work out too well because the manifolds were flipped forward? Or because UTI built it? :D

haha gee I wonder which.......

On the forward mani note, 05smoker? had that on his hugger orange truck didnt he?

I just compared my old driver side manifold with my new passenger side manifold and the bolt holes look like they are the same when they are side by side.......

The heads are very much the same as each other which means it would need to be flipped to point forward in order to bolt up. If the bolt holes were not staggered then it would be different.
