Rules on compounds

I have the cash to upgrade my hp and need some help. I would like to do compounds but don't wanna screw myself out of not being able to yank the sled. I searched NADM rules and the only info I could find was dated back from 2011 and it said I would have to pull in the "super street class." Searched that class and found very little info, so would I be better off going down the road of a single charger if I want to continue pulling?

Well I would like to build a truck that makes hp in the 550-650 range but doesn't limit it me to what I can do with it.

I made 696hp on danvilles dyno 2 yrs ago with their stock appearing , and I still use my truck to pull a sled and whatever else I want . It spools better than a lot of stock trucks I have been in too .

Yeah , set up exactly like whats in my sig . I still don't even have head studs ( knock on wood ) . Up till this year I drove it to every pull and anytime I needed to use bed or pull a trailer or our camper thats what I used .

I think the most I have had behind it was around 11,000 lb on 35" tires and it still pulls great . I actually have convinced myself that its the perfect truck at this point , but when the engine eventually gives out and I have to build it I believe it will be time for twins and dual fuelers .:thumb:

If you only want 550-650 HP, you need to be very careful what turbo you choose. There are several different organizations with different rules for the lower classes. Some require stock appearing turbos, some just have it listed as a 2.5 turbo class, and I'm sure there are other variations out there as well. If you aren't really serious about sled pulling, I would build what you want and just enjoy your truck. Limiting yourself because of something you might want to do one day isn't the best way to go about it in my opinion.

I agree totally . I built mine to NADM Workstock rules and now they may be phasing out this class or modifying it to be oem unmodded turbo . I still don't plan on changing my truck cause it will do anything I want it to do with ease . But when the engine does give up it will be built to suit me not sled pulling ,drag racing , dynoing or anybody else . I'm tired of the arguements over rules , I just want to play and have fun with other diesel enthusiasts .

That's why I'm having a tough time deciding what I like to do. Would like to go a route that's not popular but efficient and doesn't keep me from participating in events.
