Roll pan Vs. stock hitch

Put on the Roll pan I got from Jordan (Thanks;)) the other day. Has anybody used their stock hitch, but moved it forward of the stock location? I have not tried to mount it as of yet, but it looks like it will work. I was thinking of using the spare tire frame for the outter two bolts and re-inforce it. Any thoughts?

Thanks;)! Just trying to get by for a few weeks. I've got a pull on the 3rd and will not be able to make a new hitch for quite a while (customers first;)). Got off my but and checked it out. It will be pretty easy to move it forward about 10-12". It will need two small holes drilled in the stock hitch to clear two frame rivits, and about an 1.5-2" spacer for the two outter bolts to the spare frame. I'll gusset the back side of the spare frame as well. Got rid of an easy 100lb., and moved the hitch point closer to the rear (When it's on).
FYI
Bumper=58lb.
Hitch=38lb.
spare bracket=8lb.
bolts=4lb.
Roll pan=7lb.

Here are a couple pic's of my hitch. I know it needs a paint job. The side rails are made from 1/2 mild steel plate with brackets for the bolt holes and the cross tube is 2x4x.250. The cross tube is tight against the frame and the spring hangers with the bottom of the receiver tube on the same plane as the bottom of the frame. It uses the factory bolt holes in the frame.

Found a local shop that will fix the two dents and color match it for $140. I think I'll like it better then. Not a fan of roll pans on 4x's, but it serves a purpose. Looks kinda narrow with the stock wheels on to me!

Anybody know the weight difference between a steel roll pan and a urethane? Rpm what is yours? Sorry for the dumb question.:eek:

I understand your saving a ton of weight by doing away with the stock bumper but I see they offer a steel roll pan and a urethane one. Which would be better? Is the steel roll pan made of thin steel so your not gaining much weight loss?

It's Just as thin as the stock sheet metal on the fenders ect. It's a savings of almost 100lb. without the hitch (Race trim). It will also move the hitch point closer to the rearend for sled pulling! The main two reasons I did it.

Damn if I switch to a roll pan i'll weigh in at 6620:eek: with all the seats in place
