I have a single cab I'm building into a race truck and while its torn down I'm going to go ahead and get a cage in it I spoke with a guy locally who said he would build an 8.50 cert chromoly cage for $2000 I'm not expert on all of that is that a good deal or no? Thanks in advance

Also, you can use either mild steel, or chromoly tubing to meet the NHRA 8.5 chassis certification. So, you'll need to decide what tubing you're going to use.

For the lower ET (faster) chassis certifications 7.5. 6.5 and 6.0 SFI publishes specific books with detailed chassis specifications for each ET certification (i.e., SFI Spec 25.4B Full Bodied Car Tube Chassis – 7.50 to 8.49 Seconds; 3,600 lbs. Maximum Effective Date: April 8, 2014).

Check out U tube and search MO HALL outlaw 10.5 he built that car from the ground up twice in the last 6 to 7 years. plus a couple other 10.5's here in the MD, PA area that race at Cecil county.. and Jersey area tracks..

That's a very good price. Especially if he tucks it through the dash like mine. And a 8.5sec cage is more involved than mine even...that's a steal of a price if he sticks to it.
