Roll Cage questions

For a roll bar (minimum for SS) the rear bars cannot exceed a 30 angle from what i understand, this keeps structural support of the main hoop, but when you have a 8 point cage, the reae bars can exceed the 30 degree limit and tuck up against the headliner like mine. Like i said earlier, we built mine with streetability in mind, and the rear seat will bolt in, and visibility is exceptional

I was just reading the nhra rule book and it said it could be bolted or welded to the frame.

Kelly's rear bars and mine are pretty similar, but a simple roll bar will not pass nhra tech and be "certified" with them because they dont meet the 30 degree rule. Granted, most track techs dont give a shi#

Your lucky in CA they do. When we had the first rollbar in Casper one track told us not to come back until we attached the plates to the body different. Even though we ran in Texas without a problem. At least with the cert we have now we should have a problem at any NHRA track. If my foot ever gets better that is.

section 20 general regulation 20.18 all vehicles with OEM frames must be welded or bolted to the frame.
